Below are our Fall Class offerings. With the exception of our audition-only programs, space for classes is allocated on a first come, first served basis. For our audition-only programs, registration fees will be charged once students are selected for the program.

Theatre Arts
Classes
From preschool through high school, we offer a wide range of programs for both beginners and experienced stage performers - including classes in acting/drama, musical dance theatre, and voice. Students who are interested in pursuing a WTP Production Class are strongly encouraged to enroll in a WTP Acting Class if they have not already done so.

This acting class is great for everyone! Students will study the techniques of theatre while building foundational acting skills and theatre vocabulary. Students will explore theatre through games, monologues, scene work, character building, and improvisation. The final day of class will feature a "Shareformance".

This invite/audition-only studio acting class is for advanced students looking to build skills and challenge themselves. Students will study and expand on previous techniques improving their artistry. This is a fast paced class that will benefit even a seasoned performer.

A new adventure begins each week as actors discover treasures in a trunk and bring characters to life through creative drama and movement. Class features an interactive exploration of beginning theatre, classic and current children’s literature. The final day of class will feature a "Shareformance".

Have you ever wondered how those big production numbers pop? In this fun and fast paced dance class, WTP will focus on the dance moves that make audiences beg for more. Students will hone their technique while learning those leaps, turns, and tricks that make audiences beg for more.

Love to sing? These one-on-one lessons, will give students the opportunity to build and improve their basic singing technique while expanding their knowledge of the musical theatre repertoire. Each student will also be given the chance to share their progress in a group “share-formance” at the end of each eight-week session.

Do you love to dance? Are you looking to hone your craft? These one on one lessons offer students a chance to develop and perfect their dance skills. Lessons will focus on technique, stage presence, strength, conditioning, as well as audition preparation. Choose from a variety of styles including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Fosse, and Lyrical.

Join us to learn a dance combination From Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and a Q&A about Touring!

Bernie Baldassaro – Bernie is a performer, choreographer, and teaching artist currently traveling the country with the Broadway National Tour of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a Swing and understudying the roles of Mike Teavee and Augustus Gloop. He is honored to be visiting his WTP family after serving as the IMPACT choreographer for the 2020-2021 season and teaching Musical Theatre Dance. A Boston-native, he has taught dance and acting for North Shore Music Theatre, The Young Co.
at Greater Boston Stage, Artbarn Community Theatre, and Venturing Studios. He is also currently on faculty at Noel Smith Voice Studio as a dance instructor and audition coach. Some of Bernie’s favorite performance credits include the Broadway National Tour of Elf the Musical, A Christmas Carol, and Disney’s Freaky Friday both at North Shore Music Theatre. Proud alum of Ithaca College with a BFA in Musical Theatre.

"Sing Out, Louise!" Learn solo and ensemble numbers from some hit Broadway shows of the past and present! Students will work on becoming true theatrical "triple threats" during this intensive. Singing, Dancing, and Acting their way through some of Musical Theatre's most beloved songs. Includes one on one and group coaching with Musical Director. The final day of class will feature a "Shareformance".


Production
Classes
Students will explore their creativity and expand their acting, singing, and dancing skills. From audition preparation to Opening Night, all students will learn what it takes to produce a stage show.
Prerequisite: Previous enrollment in a WTP production class and/or current or previous enrollment in a WTP Acting, Dance or Workshop class. Students who have been in a WTP production, but who have not taken a WTP Acting Class are strongly encouraged to do so. At the teacher's discretion, enrollment requirements may be waived. After auditions students will receive a rehearsal schedule. While students may not be required to attend every Saturday rehearsal, attendance during Tech Week is mandatory.
Join us as we follow an average day in the life of Charlie Brown as he navigates lunch, Valentine's Day, and baseball season with both wild optimism and utter despair. This musical is based on the Comic Strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz and includes loved comic book friends Lucy, Schroeder, Linus, Peppermint Patty, and Snoopy. WTP will perform the Broadway revival version featuring updated orchestrations, and two brand new songs.

Join Alice on a sleepy afternoon playing chess when she enters the looking glass into a world of strange back-to-front magic. Stepping through the mirror, she meets kings and queens of her chess set. The world inside the glass is marked out as a chess board, across which she must travel as a pawn. She meets talking flowers, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, sees Humpty Dumpty fall from his wall, meets the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, and witnesses the furious battle between the Lion and the Unicorn fighting for the crown. The gentle White Knight rescues her from the cruel Red Knight, as she is able to reach the eighth square and become queen. Or is it all a dream?

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS & PREPARATION:
Mandatory Information Meeting September 15th 6:30pm
Please prepare 32 Bars of an upbeat Musical Theatre Number and bring the sheet music (we will provide an accompanist). There will also be a dance audition so please come prepared to dance/ wear appropriate clothing and shoes for movement.
