Summer 2023
Production Camps 

Below are our Summer 2023 Camp offerings. This summer WTP will require that all enrolled students either (i)be fully vaccinated and up to date on recommended vaccinations/boosters as available for Covid-19 or (ii) submit to a Covid-19 test prior to each entry at WTP at the families expense. 

Wellesley Theatre Project offers a variety of Summer Camps for all ages! Camps are divided by the age/grade your child is entering in the Fall and include one-week specialty offerings and multi-week production camps. One week information is coming soon!

Space is limited and registration is based upon the order in which applications are received.  Applications are not complete without payment in full or a deposit.  Contact us about sibling or multiple camp discounts, and need-based scholarships.

Production Camps

Students will explore their creativity and expand their acting, singing, and dancing skills. From audition preparation to Opening Night, all students will learn what it takes to produce a stage show. Each camp will conclude with three performances of a fully realized production on a stage professionally produced and open for the public. Space is limited, and registration is based on the order in which applications are received. Please contact us with any questions.

A typical day will involve:

  • Theatre arts classes in acting, character development, dance, voice, and improvisation

  • Production rehearsals, including group and individual coaching sessions with the director, musical director and choreographer   

Tuition includes:  Camp T-shirt and Official Script. 

A 50% deposit must be made after enrolling, via credit card or email in order to secure your spot. Full tuition must be paid by April 1st 2023. Need-based scholarships are available.  

  

All Production Camps meet Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. Performance dates and times are listed below.

Disney's
Winnie the Pooh, KIDS!

2ND TO 8TH GRADE

June 26 - July 8 (*No Camp on July 4th.)

Performances: July 7 at 7pm & 8 at 2pm & 6pm

Join us in the Hundred Acre Wood with Pooh Bear and all of his friends from the classic children’s books and animated film. Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson! As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course... sharing snacks. Will they be able to save save their friend, Christopher Robin? Featuring favorite songs from the film, as well as new hits by the Academy Award-winning Robert and Kristen Lopez (Frozen), this honey-filled delight is as sweet as it is fun.

Nickelodeon's
Spongebob, The Musical

2ND TO 12TH GRADE

Performances: July 27 & 28 at 7pm & 29 at 2pm

Join us in Bikini Bottom in this award winning musical adapted from the iconic Nickelodeon series! SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world! SpongeBob, the Musical features songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, T.I.,David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley.

Disney's Freaky Friday, A New Musical

8TH TO 12TH GRADE

Join us for Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films. When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter. Freaky Friday, a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic, features a book by Bridget Carpenter - the co-executive producer and writer on the beloved TV hits, "Friday Night Lights" and "Parenthood" - and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey - the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of Next to Normal and If/Then.
