Teaching Artists for Winter & Spring Classes
Wellesley Theatre Project is currently hiring Teaching Artists for our Winter & Spring Classes. WTP is a nonprofit year round theatre program that runs classes and production rehearsals in Wellesley, MA. Students range from 4-18 years old.

Foundations Of Musical Theatre
This class will introduce the core concepts of Musical Theatre! Students will learn choreography, dance technique, singing and breathing techniques, as well as learning how to perform confidently on stage. They will learn how to notate blocking, project their voice, and many other skills required of musical theatre actors. All students at Wellesley Theatre Project need to have this foundation before performing in a full production.

Theatre Explorers
​​This class will introduce theatrical concepts to our newest actors, and build creative skills for our returning ones. Students will use their curiosity to create stories and characters through games, storytelling, and crafts. Students will learn how to perform a scene with blocking and props. This is a perfect class to take before or simultaneously with an enrollment show. It will provide the building blocks needed to be a successful actor at WTP and beyond.

Musical Theatre Workshop
Enhance your singing, dancing and acting skills with this class that will prepare you for the stage! Students will learn song and dance numbers as well as scenes from popular musicals. Students 3rd-5th Grade will need to have taken Foundations of Musical Theatre before taking this class.

Prospective candidates must:
-
Have a background in drama, dance, musical theatre, and/or theatre education with considerable experience as a Teaching Artist or Educator.
-
Experience working with children and/or teaching.
-
Bachelor’s degree, or higher preferred, in the relevant area of drama/theatre arts.
-
Provide vocal coaching to the group and individuals on as-needed basis;
-
Teach all music in the class
-
Provide piano accompaniment as needed
-
Knowledge of classroom management.
In addition to the duties listed above, Wellesley Theatre Project expects the following of each employee: adheres to policies and procedures; works to create a positive learning environment for the students; be a role model of professional theatre etiquette; works in a safe manner; performs duties as workload necessitates; maintains a positive and respectful attitude; communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues; demonstrates efficient time management and prioritizes workload; demonstrates regular and consistent attendance and punctuality; participates in Wellesley Theatre Project events as needed or required; and completes other duties as assigned.

Studio Greeter
Wellesley Theatre Project is a nonprofit arts academy that provides exceptional educational programming, empowering students to be citizen artists. We have after school programming which includes weekly classes, private lessons, and full production rehearsals. Our students range from pre-k through 12th grade. We are seeking a part time studio greeter to join our team!
Job Description:
We are seeking an energetic and friendly studio greeter to welcome students and parents into the building! The greeter will check students into their classes at the front door and also supervise the front desk to field parent questions, handle some administrative tasks, hand out occasional bandaids, and be a friendly face to everyone who enters the building. The Studio Greeter will be in charge of opening and closing the studio on some occasions. This candidate should love working with children, be an exceptional communicator, and must be punctual. The greeter will know the room assignments for each class and know the schedule of each class in case questions come up. The hours would be Monday-Friday 3:30pm-6:30pm and Saturday's 12pm-2pm. There is potential for more hours or for these hours to be split with another candidate.
