Camps
Wellesley Theatre Project offers a variety of Summer Camps for all ages! Camps are divided by the age/grade your child is entering in the Fall and include one-week specialty offerings and multi-week production camps.
Space is limited and registration is based upon the order in which applications are received. Applications are not complete without payment in full or a deposit. Contact us about sibling or multiple camp discounts, and need-based scholarships.
One-Week Camps
From elementary through high school, we offer a wide range of summer camps for both beginners and experienced stage performers - including classes in acting/drama, musical dance theatre, and voice.

Want an edge on your next theatre audition? This workshop will help students choose appropriate audition materials, provide individual coaching and group work. Dance Bootcamp

In this fast paced workshop, students will get a crash course in Tap and Jazz! Each day will consist of technique work, dance conditioning, and learning dance combinations. Students should come with tap shoes and jazz shoes or sneakers.

Learn what it takes to become a powerful witch or wizard in a fantasy world! Students will study different texts to draw insiration to create their own mythical world full of witchcraft and wizardry. Theatre Detectives

Step into the shoes of Sherlock Holmes and Watson as students try and solve a mystery! Every day students will discover something new and unlock a new piece of the puzzle. At the end of the week they will theatrically re-tell how they solved the mystery! Students should pack a snack, water bottle, and a lunch!
Revolting Children
2ND THROUGH 6TH GRADE

Students will learn songs and scenes from “Matilda”! They will work with a choreographer to enhance their musical theatre dancing skills as well as learning choreography to songs from Matilda. The music director will teach healthy vocal techniques and how to safely use character voices. Students should pack a snack, water bottle, and a lunch!
Technical Theatre
6TH THROUGH 12TH GRADE

Students will have one on one instruction from an industry professional to learn about different technical elements of theatre. Students will work on the props and other technical elements for How to Drain Your Dragon Jr. Students should pack a snack, water bottle, and a lunch!
Internships
8TH TO 12TH GRADE
WTP is now accepting applications for interns for our 2024 winter and spring season. Interns will have the chance to apply for a job with a specific role. They will work closely with WTP’s professional teaching artists to gain “on the job” skills. Our internship roles include:

Production Camps
Students will explore their creativity and expand their acting, singing, and dancing skills. From audition preparation to Opening Night, all students will learn what it takes to produce a stage show. Each camp will conclude with three performances of a fully realized production on a stage professionally produced and open for the public. Space is limited, and registration is based on the order in which applications are received. Please contact us with any questions.
A typical day will involve:

Theatre arts classes in acting, character development, dance, voice, and improvisation

Production rehearsals, including group and individual coaching sessions with the director, musical director and choreographer
Tuition includes: Camp T-shirt and Official Script.
A 50% deposit must be made after enrolling, via credit card or email in order to secure your spot. Full tuition must be paid by April 1st 2023. Need-based scholarships are available.
All Production Camps meet Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. Performance dates and times are listed below.

Roald Dahl's Matilda Jr. follows Matilda Wormwood, who, belittled by her cruel parents for her love of reading and sharp mind, is also constantly punished along with her peers by the unjust rulings of the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Dreaming of a better life, Matilda uses her courage, cleverness, intelligence, and special powers, and the support of her lovable school teacher, Miss Honey, to take a stand, and grasp her destiny in her own, tiny hands.
