Summer Camps

Wellesley Theatre Project offers a variety of Summer Camps for all ages! Camps are divided by the age/grade your child is entering in the Fall and include one-week specialty offerings and multi-week production camps. 

​

Space is limited and registration is based upon the order in which applications are received.  Students should enroll in summer camp based on what grade they are entering in the fall. Applications are not complete without payment in full or a deposit.  Contact us about sibling or multiple camp discounts, and need-based scholarships.

ONE-WEEK CAMPS

From preschool through high school, we offer a wide range of summer camps for both beginners and experienced stage performers - including camps in acting/drama, musical theatre, dance and voice and technical theatre. Students who should enroll in camps based on the grade they are entering in the fall.​

Foundations of Musical Theatre

5TH THROUGH 8TH

This is a prerequisite class for any enrollment show with WTP. This class will introduce the core concepts of

Musical Theatre! Students will learn choreography, dance technique, singing and breathing techniques, as well as learning how to perform confidently on stage. They will learn how to notate blocking, project their voice, and many other skills required of musical theatre actors. All students at Wellesley Theatre Project need to have this

foundation before performing in a full production during the school year.

From audition preparation to Opening Night, all students will learn what it takes to produce a stage show. Each camp will conclude with three performances of a fully realized production on a stage professionally produced and open for the public. Step into the world of aspiring Broadway performers as they audition for the chance of a lifetime in this emotionally rich and captivating musical. A Chorus Line follows a group of dancers who bare their souls while competing for a spot in the ensemble of a new show. As the tough but perceptive director Zach pushes them to open up, each dancer shares a deeply personal story—revealing their hopes, struggles, triumphs, and what drives them to pursue their passion for performance. This powerful show shines a spotlight on the dedication, vulnerability, and heart behind every performer who steps onto the stage.

Join Shrek, the lovable ogre with a heart of gold, on a hilarious and heartwarming adventure in this playful musical adaptation. When fairy-tale characters suddenly invade his swamp, Shrek embarks on a journey to reclaim his home—teaming up with the endlessly talkative Donkey and unexpectedly forming a bond with the feisty Princess Fiona. Along the way, they confront the pint-sized villain Lord Farquaad and discover that true beauty comes from within. Packed with humor, charm, and unforgettable characters, Shrek, The Musical KIDS shows that everyone deserves their own happily-ever-after.

Kick off your Sunday shoes and dive into the spirited story of Ren McCormack, a city teenager who moves to a small town where dancing has been outlawed. In Footloose, Ren challenges the strict rules put in place by the town’s solemn Reverend Shaw and inspires his classmates to speak up, break free, and find joy through movement and music. With its energetic dance numbers and heartfelt messages about self-expression and community, this musical celebrates the resilience of youth and the power of standing up for what you believe in.

WTP is now accepting applications for interns for our 2024/25 Season. Interns will have the chance to apply for a job with a specific role. They will work closely with WTP’s professional teaching artists to gain “on the job” skills. Our internship roles include:
