9:30am to 3:30pm

For a recipe of fun, add a dash of fantasy, a pinch of adventure, and sprinkle liberally with fairy dust for this magical journey into theatre. Ever wonder what would happen if Cinderella didn't find her prince, or if Jack decided not to climb the beanstalk? Things certainly would have turned out differently, wouldn't they? If you enjoy creating new twists and turns, you will love bringing creativity to the stage to make your very own fairy tale. We'll take elements of favorite stories, put them in a grab bag, and create our own mixed up fairy tale.

Production Camps

WTP has set up policies in order to keep our students, teachers, and families safe. All production camps will be held masked and socially distanced outside. Performances will be on an outdoor stage with a live (socially distanced) audience! Please click here to read up on our policies.

Students will explore their creativity and expand their acting, singing, and dancing skills.  From audition preparation to Opening Night, all students will learn what it takes to produce a stage show. Each camp will conclude with three performances of a fully realized production on an outdoor stage professionally produced and open for the public. Space is limited, and registration is based on the order in which applications are received. Please contact us with any questions.

A typical day will involve:

  • Theatre arts classes in acting, character development, dance, voice, and improvisation

  • Production rehearsals, including group and individual coaching sessions with the director, musical director and choreographer

Tuition includes:  Camp T-shirt and Official Script.

A 50% deposit must be made after enrolling, via credit card or email in order to secure your spot. Full tuition must be paid by April 1st 2021. Need-based scholarships are available.

All Production Camps meet Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. Performance dates and times are listed below. Performances will be outside on a stage with an audience! (Following Covid-19 guidelines of course!)

Space is extremely limited! Enrollment is limited to 17 students per production camp (this may increase if Covid-19 regulations change). To allow for more people to participate, students may currently enroll in ONE production camp for the summer. If more spots come available, we would love for students to join us for more than one production camp. If the camp you want to enroll in is full, or if you are already enrolled in one production camp, send us an email at info@wellesleytheatreproject.org to put your name on a production camp waiting list. (This rule does not apply to our one-week camps listed above.)

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, the elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
