Season Highlights
WTP was one of five groups nationwide to pilot a brand new production for Music Theater International, Dot and the Kangaroo!
We produced eight full-scale shows: Dot and the Kangaroo, Puffs, Children of Eden (with IMPACT!), The Lightning Thief, Descendants, Winnie the Pooh, Sponge Bob, and Freaky Friday.
WTP launched an after-school theatre education program for K-5 students in Wellesley's METCO Program and their family friends! Students at each Wellesley elementary school spend one of their "stay days" learning the basics of acting, dance and music.
The audition-only IMPACT! touring group served as featured performer at the annual Wellesley Veteran's Parade and evening concert!
IMPACT! and their WTP educators had another incredible experience at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta:
-
They earned an Excellence in Ensemble Work Award for their performance of Children of Eden!
-
WTP's Tech Olympics team won first place !
-
Artistic Director Ben Rush won the coveted Freddy G Fellowship, earning him an incredible professional development opportunity with iTheatrics!
