College Prep

​Sessions will include:

-       Understanding the college audition process and navigating college performing arts programs.

-       Creating a “Plan” worksheet (What type of school? Location?, BFA vs BA vs conservatory?, Requirements,

          Deadlines, etc.).

-       Understanding the prescreen process (for schools that require).

-       Filming prescreens and reels at WTP.

-       Help select appropriate material and that is contrasting in style (song, monologue).

-       Is there a dance component?

-       Establish appropriate cuts of material to fit time/specifics the school is asking for.

-       Evaluate repertoire in case asked for other options. 

-       Coach song and monologue. 

-       Create and format resume.

-       Evaluate headshot.

-       How to electronically submit supplemental material to application (performing arts material).

-       Connect with Program Directors and arrange visit to campuses (possibly sit in on a class).

-       What is the career path upon completion of the degree program? (Does the program offer an industry

         showcase in senior year? Are there networking connections and opportunities?  What are alumni of the

         program doing?)

-       Available to connect with parents/families to answer any questions and help guide along the way.
